Adult Choir

All singers, post high school age, are invited to sing. Anthems are sung by the adult choir at most 11:00 worship services from September through June. Rehearsals are scheduled every Thursday evening from 7:30 to 8:45 PM. The anthems are varied from traditional classic composers to contemporary. The music selected tries to enhance the theme of the day. Depending on the required instrumentation and musical style, accompaniments can be with organ, piano, harpsichord, and instrumentalists that are selected from the very talented members of the congregation.

Paxtones (Adult Handbell Choir)

This adult ensemble may include high school students depending on their ringing ability. The Paxtones ring 3 1/2 octave Malmark Handbells, augmented by 2 octaves of tone chimes. Rehearsals are scheduled weekly on Thursday evenings from 6:15 to 7:15 from September through May. The Paxtones provide prelude music at least once a month for both 8:30 and 11:00 worship services. Most music selected is of medium difficulty. Membership is based on interest and availability to rehearse, but some music background is helpful.

Paxton Singers (Junior/Senior High Choir)

Rehearsals are scheduled weekly on Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 9:30 AM, September through May. Music is provided at least one worship service a month, usually at 11:00.

Paxton Angels Choir (Youth from first to sixth grades)

Rehearsals are also scheduled weekly on Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 9:30 AM, September to May. These young singers have performed frequently in the community at senior citizen centers. They also prepare a musical each year, presented during the Sunday School hour in May. They provide music for at least one 11:00 service a month.

Alleluia Choir (Pre-School)

These young singers prepare songs during their Sunday School time and perform a choral introit at least once a month for the 11:00 worship. They also sing for the Advent music program and for the youth musical in the spring.

Paxton Tone Chimes (All School Age)

Rehearsals are scheduled on most Thursday evenings at 5:30. This is a beginning handbell ringing experience hopefully preparing ringers or substitutes for the Paxtones. The Tone Chimes provide music during the Prelude several times during the year and often perform with the Paxtones. This is a set of 2 octave Malmark tone chimes.
