What to Expect Once You Find Us

Thank you for your interest in Paxton Church! After visiting this website, it is our hope that you will come visit us often and join us for worship or for any of our other activities.

Hopefully the Directions page will assist you in finding our church. After driving between the stone pillars off of Sharon Street, you will see our sanctuary right in front of you. Find any available parking or continue past the sanctuary bearing to your right for additional parking. If there is no parking available, there is additional free parking along Sharon Street and Wilhelm Street. Proceed to the new main entrance via the steps or ramp off the parking lot. Once inside, proceed up a few steps (elevator available). The sanctuary, lobby, library, church offices are to your right. The gathering room, great room, Sunday School rooms, and restroom are to your left. "Coffee Central" is located in the gathering room to your left. On certain Sundays, we also have coffee fellowship in this area at 9:30 AM. Please help yourself to any of the treats!

Our Sunday worship services are at 8:30 and 11 AM, with a short prelude beforehand. Dress as you feel comfortable. Ushers will lead you where you would like to sit. There is additional seating in the balcony across from the organ. If you need any special assistance, be sure to inform the usher. Following the Children's Sermon, there is a special Worship Readiness program for kids. Please sign the pew pad and include your address so we may be in contact with you. The pastor and associate pastor will be standing at one of the doors following the service, so please feel free to introduce yourself and ask any questions you may have. CD's of our services are available free of charge.

Adult and children's Church School classes begin at 9:45. There is no registration, and don't worry if you walk in late.

Accessibility

One of the main goals of our recent renovation was to make our building as accessible as possible to all people. There is now a ramp from the parking lot into the building. Once in the building, there is an elevator that can take you to each level of the building. Using the elevator, one can avoid having to take any steps anywhere in the building. Large print bulletins and hymnals are available, in addition to personal listening devices to assist with hearing the worship service.

Renovations

Paxton Church has just about completed the first phase of its renovations. The building is now accessible and climate controlled, and its layout has been modified to better serve the church's needs . You may enjoy viewing photos of the renovations that took place during 2006 and 2007. There is still more work to be completed in the church yard and parking lot - please be careful of any steps up to the sidewalk until the parking lot is repaved.
