Seekers Class
The Seekers Class is a supportive, self-teaching, socially-oriented group of middle-aged adults that has approximately 20 members. Lessons are taught by a core group of members covering Biblical-based topics from Presbyterian and other sources. We usually focus on a specific Gospel or book in the Bible. This year we focused on the Old Testament book of Isaiah. We have also explored The Ten Commandments and the Apostles.
From time to time the class conducts special fund raising events, usually involving a prepared meal. The class participates in church-wide activities: Paxton Presbyterian Women’s Flea Market, Sunday Morning Coffee Fellowship, and the end of the year Church School Festival. Socializing is the rule rather than the exception at all class activities. Individual members of the class volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Downtown Daily Bread, and hands-on mission trips out of the area.
The class conducts three social events each year for its members: the fall retreat, Christmas brunch, and spring progressive dinner. The fall retreat is usually held in the Harrisburg area and provides a relaxed atmosphere for fellowship. The date for the 2007 fall retreat will be determined when the church school year begins in September.
The Seekers meet at 9:45 AM each Sunday, location TBD.
